Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) released a memorandum on Monday morning that quantifies the amount of money in civil and criminal penalties Elon Musk and his companies could avoid thanks to Musk's influence in the Trump administration.
When I'm not traveling, I go to a Tesla Takedown in Rockville, MD. This report gives them information to write new signs.
The average passerby knows the connection between Musk and Tesla and Doge, but they may not realize just how Musk's sledgehammer approach to federal agencies has debilitated the oversight offices within each agency that could research contracts Musk has with those agencies and pursue lawsuits related to those contracts.
They may think that since he is "going back to managing Tesla," he won't be doing any more damage to taxpayers and the federal government, and that is clearly wrong.
I'd buy a bumper sticker that said "Watch out for Teslas on the road" or something more succinct. I'll take suggestions for signage about how Musk destroyed the oversight offices for his federal contracts and thus avoids negligence lawsuits. I just can't get that down to 5 or 6 words! "Trump protects Musk from federal lawsuits" doesn't do it.
Pulling musk companies' legal and financial executives into investigations on possible criminal wrong doing is genius. You go Sen Blumenthal.
unbelievable... thank you for this
Kudos to Blumenthal!
